Entertainer Fishing Charters | Perdido Key Deep Sea Fishing

Entertainer Fishing Charters runs walk-on and private trips aboard The Entertainer, a 65-foot custom boat, making it one of the larger options for Perdido Key deep sea fishing. Trips leave from 13506 Perdido Key Drive in Pensacola, where the company also runs its own bait and tackle store, and head into the Gulf for red snapper, grouper, amberjack and more.

The Entertainer

Built by Bonner in 2004, the 65-foot, 19-foot-wide Entertainer runs on twin 750-horsepower John Deere diesels and cruises at about 18 knots. It has 135 feet of rail space, a 100-gallon live well and modern fish-finding electronics, along with an air-conditioned cabin with a bar, refrigerator and microwave, and a sun deck with two chaise loungers. Capt. Rex Williams runs the boat.

Shared Fishing Charter

The walk-on option is a 6-hour shared charter, with several groups on one boat:

Adults (13 and up): $175
Kids 12 and under: $150

Shared trips need at least 15 anglers to sail and take up to 40. Arrive 30 minutes early. Availability varies, and trips run weather permitting.

Private Charters

If you want only your own group aboard, the 6-hour private charter is the most popular choice:

Standard season: $2,500 for the first 12 passengers, plus $200 for each additional guest
Red snapper season: $3,100 for the first 15 passengers, plus $200 for each additional guest

Private charters take up to 45 people, and longer trips farther into the Gulf are available. Call for details.

What You’ll Catch

The Entertainer’s target list includes red, vermilion and black snapper; gag, red, scamp, black and snowy grouper; and amberjack, cobia, king mackerel and wahoo. Billfish such as marlin, sailfish and swordfish are on the list too, and triggerfish and bonito are common catches.

Fish cleaning by the deckhand costs $0.30 per pound (whole weight). A 20% gratuity for the mate and deckhands is customary and isn’t included in the fare.

Before You Go

Bring: a small cooler with food and drinks (nothing is sold on board, and you’ll need the cooler to take your catch home), plus a towel and sunscreen
Alcohol: allowed, but no glass
Your own gear: welcome, but no braided line
Seasickness: if you’re prone to it, take Bonine or Dramamine the night before and the morning of the trip
Weather: only the captain cancels for weather, and you can reschedule or take a full refund
