If you want Stuart party boat fishing without a long drive to the inlet, the Lady Stuart I sails right from the Hutchinson Island Marriott at 555 NE Ocean Blvd in Stuart. She’s a Coast Guard inspected headboat that keeps trips to 34 anglers, so there’s space to fish and room to sit between drops. The crew has run Treasure Coast bottom fishing trips for years and handles everything from baiting hooks for first-timers to filleting the catch at the end of the day.

Schedule and Prices

The Lady Stuart I runs one regular trip a day, priced per person (6.5% sales tax is added):

Half-day, Saturday through Thursday, 8 am to 1 pm: $75 adults, $70 seniors 60+, $60 kids 12 and under
Full day, Fridays, 8 am to 3 pm: $90 adults, $85 seniors 60+, $75 kids 12 and under

Plan to be at the dock by 7:30 am. Reservations are held only until then, and walk-ons fill open spots when the boat isn’t full. The office takes Visa, MasterCard and Discover (no checks). Mates work for tips, and 15 to 20% of the regular fare is customary.

What’s Included

Rods, tackle, cut squid for bait and your fishing license are included in the fare. The crew also cleans, fillets and bags your keepers at no extra charge. On board you’ll find seating all around the rail, an enclosed cabin with booths, an upper deck with seating, two restrooms and all required Coast Guard safety gear. There’s no galley; only bottled water is sold, so pack your own food and drinks. Beer or wine coolers in cans or plastic are allowed, but no hard liquor or glass.

What You’ll Catch

Trips anchor over hard bottom off Hutchinson Island, with the occasional drift when conditions favor it. Expect snapper, grouper, sea bass, triggerfish and porgies, with kingfish, mahi, cobia and even sailfish showing up from time to time. The crew checks each fish for size and season, marks your keepers and keeps them iced in oversized coolers until the ride home. Bring your own bait if you like, but braided line isn’t allowed on board.

Private Charters

The whole boat can be chartered for offshore or river trips: 5 hours for $2,300, 7 hours for $2,700 or 9 hours for $3,100, plus a suggested crew tip. Ash-scattering services and gift certificates are available too.
