Florida Fishing Fleet runs offshore party boat trips and private charters from the historic Cortez Fishing Village, just minutes from the beaches, making it a convenient choice for Anna Maria Island fishing charters. Trips range from 4-hour backwater outings to 10-hour offshore runs into the Gulf, led by Capt. Lance, a 100-ton USCG-licensed captain with more than 18 years on inshore, nearshore, offshore and commercial boats.

The Boats

  • Kingpin: a 50-foot Yank with an open back deck shaded by a sunshade, an air-conditioned cabin and a full-size bathroom. Licensed for up to 25 passengers.
  • Savage Lady: a 41-foot Morgan that cruises at 18 knots and takes up to 15 passengers on 6, 8 or 10-hour trips 15 to 50 miles offshore.
  • Sabalo: a 32-foot offshore boat for smaller groups.
  • Florida Man and Little Savage: nearshore and inshore boats for up to 6 anglers, including a 24-foot T-Craft for backwater trips.

Party Boat and Private Trips

Offshore party boat trips start at $99 per person and run 4 to 10 hours, as shared “split” charters or private charters, fishing the reefs off Anna Maria Island and farther out in the Gulf. Inshore trips run 4 to 6 hours from $550 and explore the bays and intracoastal waters around the island. Specialty trips include full-moon mangrove snapper night fishing and red grouper and red snapper day trips; contact the fleet for dates.

What You’ll Catch

Offshore catches include grouper, Key West grunts, lane, vermilion and mangrove snapper, red snapper (in season), triggerfish, kingfish, porgies, amberjack and cobia. Inshore trips target snook, trout, redfish, mackerel, sheepshead and mangrove snapper.

What’s Included

Every trip includes your fishing license, rods, bait, tackle, ice and fish cleaning. Gratuity isn’t included; the mates work on tips, and 18 to 20% is customary.
