The Miss Virginia has been a fixture of Tarpon Springs fishing charters for decades. Owned and operated by the Zuban family since 1992, the headboat started out in Port Richey and has called the Anclote River in Tarpon Springs home since 1995, taking both first-timers and seasoned anglers out to the Gulf’s rich fishing grounds.

The Boat

The Miss Virginia is a 58-foot, 16-foot-wide headboat built by Clark’s and Mills in Clearwater, with fiberglass-over-wood construction and twin turbocharged Cummins diesels. It has two enclosed restrooms, an enclosed cabin and covered fishing area for rainy days, a full galley, and a bunk room for overnight charters. The boat is Coast Guard certified and inspected, its captains are Coast Guard licensed, the crew follows a drug-free workplace program, and it’s a federally permitted for-hire vessel with NOAA Fisheries.
